How to Increase Blog Traffic: Answer Questions on Facebook Groups

Facebook Groups do not have to be a link graveyard.
As we dive deeper into our how to increase blog traffic series I want to share a neat way to drive traffic through Facebook.
Most Facebook Groups are link dropping points. Paste your link and run. These groups are not communities, but fear-based collectives that are all but worthless.
The strategy I share works only on Facebook Groups where members actively engage one another, asking and answering questions.
By following these tips you can drive a steadily increasing flow of traffic to your blog through these large, targeted groups.
Why it Works
Offer value.
Become valuable.
Offering value becomes easy if you hold a generous, loving intent. Versus desperately trying to paste your link on hundreds of Facebook Groups – where fear is at play – you mindfully help people by answering their questions in thorough, generous fashion.
People dig your answers. Both the person whose question you answered and other Facebook Group members.
This digging crowd clicks your name link and visits your profile page on Facebook. One click later the individuals visit your blog, boosting your blog traffic.
How it Works
Join actively engaging, thrivingFacebook Groups related to your blogging niche.
Example; I am a blogging tips blogger. I join groups aligned with blogging tips, like the Blogging Boost Group on Facebook.
Scroll through the post updates. Select a few questions you can answer thoroughly.
Set aside a few minutes to publish an in-depth answer. In some cases, 3-4 sentences may do, but in other cases you can cover the topic in great detail.
I prefer to personalize answers, addressing the Facebooker by name, greeting them with a “Hi”. I also sign off with my name. Adds that nice little authentic, personalized touch.
Gateway Activity
See this as a gateway activity which increases your blog traffic.
You may not be placing a link to your blog or one of your posts in the answer yet people will still visit your blog after you publish a thorough, helpful answer that addresses the question in detail.
Have faith in people. Gain clarity in the value you have to offer. You are worthy. People see this. People will gladly visit your Facebook profile, then click your blog post link, after you share a helpful answer to a question.
Release on an obsession with posting your link and running….
No Link and Leave
Avoid the dreaded link and leavestrategy used by many Facebook Group members.
Ya know; dropping a link to your latest post and leaving the group until your next blog post, never contributing anything except your own blog post links.
Feel free to link to resources via your blog or other blogs when answering questions but spend a few minutes here and there sharing answers to address questions. Think text, not just links.
Being valuable in folk’s eyes drives traffic to your blog. Folks who see you as being helpful will gladly help you by visiting your blog and commenting on your posts.
No link and leave, please. Stick around for a bit. Answer a few questions. Develop bonds with other Facebook Group members. Your latest blog post links become more clickable when you answer questions and help folks on groups.
Be Generous
Generosity makes this tip work.
Nobody wants a 2 word answer.
Spend 30 seconds to 5 minutes answering questions in a thorough, helpful, generous fashion.
People whose questions you answered will follow you to your blog. As will other Facebookers who appreciate your insight and deem you a valuable resource.
